What Is Benton REA Member Power?
Benton REA Member Power is a grassroots organization of Benton REA members who support the goal of making sure power is affordable and available here at home.

Why You Need To Join?
Electric utilities in the northwest and across the country, including Benton REA, are facing challenges that will affect the reliability and cost of your power. Legislators both in Washington State and congress are considering climate change legislation that will have a dramatic impact on utilities and consumers.

You will learn more about the issues we face and have the chance to contact legislators and provide them with valuable information to make decisions that affect the cost and reliability of your electricity.

You Can Make The Difference!
When the northwest aluminum companies pushed for a "special deal," approximately 1500 Benton REA members said "NO" by sending postcards, emails and making phone calls to our representatives. The result: No Special Deal for the aluminum companies. By working together, Benton REA members can have the same impact on Climate Change legislation by encouraging legislators to only support proposals that do not raise electric bills to a point where folks can’t afford it or such electric bills adversely impact our economy. Any legislation that addresses reductions in carbon dioxide should have realistic goals, allow the use of current state-of-art technology to keep emissions at a minimum, and provide funding for research and development of a variety of clean energy technologies to meet our nation's future energy needs.
